About Us::
BACKGROUND
Founded by Mr Ivan Kakembo and his wife Ssali Doryn, the aim of the Uganda Youth Soccer Academy (UYSA) is to offer opportunities to the disadvantaged youth of Ugandan urban slums through football and education.
Uganda Youth Soccer Academy is one of the prominent non-profit soccer academies which supports and is dedicated to promote soccer to the youth sector. A community based soccer academy that aims to discover potential and talented players and prosper their knowledge to become good role models in the community.
The academy has in place specific developmental programs for children of all ages, boys and girls, regardless of their religion, economic status and political affiliations. These programs consist of the latest methods and equipments to achieve the best results. Beneficiaries of the organization undergo rigid sports training under the supervision of professional coaches that have devoted their time and talent to fulfil the objectives of the Soccer Academy. The academy also provides leadership training to develop the sportsmanship and good values of its players from streets and slums in Uganda.
The academy works in partnership with local schools to ensure that the education of its members is enhanced. We offer incentives to our members that promote academic excellence. Trips and other rewards are based on both football and academic excellence! As a commitment, the organization also offers scholarship grants to deserving students to be able to finish their primary education and continue to secondary school.
Because of our two tier approach to the children's well-being, the academy aims to graduate an elite squad of players that can compete at professional standards and also be academically astute. The organization incorporates excellent skills as well as the discipline that an athlete must possess.
Our supporting partners include; local schools, churches and mosques, local and international businesses including Brussels Airlines, Sheraton Hotel , and both local and international sportsmen. We have also received huge support from parents in scandinavia and teachers of our youth and the public’s goodwill.

ACADEMY OBJECTIVES
1. To provide professional soccer coaching to youths between the ages of 3 to 17yrs in poor families and slum areas of Uganda
2.To invest in participation in world youth international tournaments to give the youth exposure and for them to appreciate their education to have Hope in life
3. To promote friendship with other youths in the world to acquire penpals, foster families to support our youth education
4. To establish a world class football academy,with facilities to international standards with specific emphasis on football talent development and rehabilitation among the youth to divert them from unsocial behaviours like drug abuse, theft, wars etc
5.To provide education and scholastic materials to under privilledged youth in poor families and slum areas in Uganda
6.To mobilise the youth and create awareness in the community about social problems like Hiv Aids ,immunisation ,Poverty, Hunger, conflict resolution, etc

ACADEMY LAUNCH UGANDA FEBRUARY 2009
The academy was officially launched on 27th February 2009 after two years in operation after its official establishement on 5th October,2007 in a colourful ceremony at Club Rogue by the CEO of the federation of Uganda Football Association Edgar Watson, current national men soccer team Bobby Williamson at that time, football federation technical director Asuman Lubowa, National Council of Sports officials, country manager Brussels Airlines Uganda Pierre Declerck, diplomats, former footballers and members of the public , officially sponsored by Brussels Airlines who are academy Official partners.
